Welcome to Prince George's County Genealogical Society

We are in Maryland, but our members are nationwide. Won't you join us?

We meet virtually nine times a year with speakers on a wide variety of genealogy topics that help you further your research. Our quarterly newsletter, the Bulletin, has a more local focus with articles on sources and records pertaining to our county. Digital copies are in full color; printed and mailed copies are in black and white. Members may access over 57 years of back issues of our newsletter, which are indexed by subject and names. Our library focuses on the counties of Maryland, but at least 40 of the 50 states are represented on our library shelves, along with a few foreign countries. Our catalogue is online on our website and our librarians are eager to help you find what you need. We have two walls full of family histories, many local. We offer research assistance at a discount to members and the first 30 minutes are free. Call us for a quick look-up. Most of our meetings have a virtual option, but we love seeing members face-to-face during spring and summer EDT hours. Members may share their research surnames in a database available to other members for ease of collaboration and sharing. Meeting handouts and often links to recordings are shared with members.
